| Rumours of | | Rumours have been heard about a festival in Milton Keynes with a stunning true black metal line-up. Personally, I'm not sure if the rumours are true or not. If anyone can shed any light on the matter, please e-mail P-M, or myself personally - of_mara@hotmail.com - and give us a bit of detail. ... View Feature | Posted on 30 May 2003 - James Titcumb |
| Of Mara to Release Album | | Small but well-known black metal rawkers Of Mara are currently working on another masterpiece, this time a full length album. So far, around 5 tracks have been confirmed for the album, and the name of the album will be "Ardaeron's Fall". After the release of the album, they will release UK gig dates. The line-up for recording and gigs is not yet confirmed, they are pondering a keyboardist and another guitarist, but so far Åsgrim, Archaon, Sveinvard and Finnvind have been working on what is expected to change the history of black metal itself. ... | Opeth - Damnation | | Shortly following the release of Opeth's stunning album 'Deliverance', the swedish satanist rockers will be releasing their next album, which is, as thought much more mellow than previous material. Certainly the new album cannot be classed as Doom Metal, even in the losest of terms. However, in definate Opeth style, there remains the true gothicness of the 4-some (and yes, Martin Lopez loves Satan). After meeting Opeth myself on their first UK gig (along with another writer on this site), I'm looking foward to the new album. Opeth will be playing their last gig tonight, and will be returning to Sweden with Madder Mortem (except they will be going to Norway). ... Visit Web Site | Posted on 19 March 2003 - James Titcumb |
| Damnation And A Day | | Damnation has once again blessed the land... Cradle of Filth have spewed more sh*t onto the world. With an impressive orchestra and choir backing the recording, it is supposedly very epic. The band now missing well-known guitarist Gian Pyre, they are rumoured to have a new guitarist, but I have no idea who it is. Read the feature for more information on the album! ... | Opeth Album Has A Title! | | The new Opeth album - scheduled for release at the end of October - will be entitled "Deliverance". This is the first of the band's two upcoming releases (the second should be out early next year) and as already reported, will lean towards the band’s heavier style, whilst the other is thought to be more mellow. | Posted on 06 September 2002 - Will Johnson |
| Guitarist Leaves Cradle Of Filth | | It is with great sadness that I announce almost first-hand (it's not even on the official site yet!) that the great Gian Pyres has gracefully left the controversial greats Cradle of Filth. His departure was amicable, and he is continuing his musical career in something similar to Cradle of Filth. Farewell Gian, and good luck. The band is currently working on its new album entitled "Damnation And A Day", which should be out around February 2003. ... Visit Web Site | Posted on 28 August 2002 - James Titcumb |

| Blind Guardian's First UK Gig | | Blind Guardian are to play their first ever UK gig at the end of August at the newly-founded Bloodstock 2002 festival. This is the festival's second year running, and the fantasy-driven Power Metal band from Germany, Blind Guardian will be headlining, supported by other greats such as Gamma Ray and Return To The Sabbat. It is rumoured that Blind Guardian will be bringing their entire stage set to the UK for this gig, so this should be something worth seeing. Tickets are available directly from the Bloodstock website (http://www.bloodstock.uk.com/) priced £26 including booking fee, or £30 on the door. | Posted on 13 August 2002 - James Titcumb |
| Amen Have Problems! | Amen guitarist Rich Jones recently confirmed that fellow guitarist Sonny Mayo and drummer Shannon Larkin have officially left the band.
In a statement that can be found at the band's Official website ( www.comaamerica.com), Rich commented, "Basically this all boils down to money, and the fact that we have none".
